If you love yarn and things that can be created with it, then you will love our next artist profile.  Meet Bonnie, the creative artist behind Bon Bon Black Sheep.  Read on to learn about her obsession when it comes to all things yarn!

Bonnie, please introduce yourself!

Hello! My name is Bonnie, the creator behind Bon Bon Black Sheep. My mom taught me how to crochet 8+ years ago and I haven’t looked back since. In January of 2018, I decided to learn how to knit. I love challenging myself and the satisfaction of creating something with my hands.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not creating?

I love getting outdoors to crochet and knit. Whether it be camping, rafting or backpacking, you’ll usually find me carrying some yarn.

Is this a full-time business for you?

Bon Bon Black Sheep is my side hustle business. I work full time for my family’s river rafting business.

What do you create and what makes it so special?

I create everything from winter wear (beanies, headbands, scarves) to newborn outfits and home decor. I don’t focus on one specific thing because I love trying my hand at making new things. I also take custom orders!

What is your favorite item that you sell and why?

I love making newborn pineapple outfits. It’s so fun seeing all the cute babies as pineapples. I also love making crochet cacti. There are so many fun colors and options!

Where do you create?

My workspace is usually my couch or back patio. Otherwise, it’s outside in nature!

What do you love most about being a handmade artisan?

I love the connections I have made with other handmade artisans and meeting new people! I also love meeting new fiber friends who share my love for all things yarn.

What is the best way for people to connect with you?

People can reach out to me on Instagram, Facebook, or through email at bonbonblacksheep@gmail.com. I love chatting and meeting new friends and local makers.

How did you choose the name for your business?

My nickname is Bon Bon or Baa Baa, so I thought Bon Bon Black Sheep was quite fitting! And my favorite color is black!
