Jodi Lee is an incredible artist on her way to great things, and we are incredibly lucky to have her as a part of our 2019 holiday show. Keep reading to learn a bit more about her and her work.

Jodi, where did it all begin?
At 17, I stood in front of an Alberto Giacometti painting and felt like I was seeing art for the first time. Tears streamed down my face, and I fell deeply in love with expression through line and brush.
I still have the Giacometti print that I bought at 17 years old hanging in my house 23 years later.
I paint because art breaths inside me, wakes me up, drives me forward. It is a passion and a feud.
A problem to solve that I don’t want to know the answer to.
What is your favorite snack?
A cup of ice and a diet dr pepper, chocolate chip cookie, and Macklemore will start just about every painting session off nicely.

Where is your studio?
I get to have my studio in my home. My easel rests in a corner by a big window that looks out to my tree-filled backyard.

What materials do you paint with?
I work mostly in oils right now. I love ink and watercolor too.
Do you use a sketchbook?
Sketching every day is not negotiable. Inspiration and skill must find me working.
