Beautiful handcrafted wood decor makes a statement in any home, and if you are looking for the perfect piece for yours, then look no further than 3 Noisy Birds. DeVonya and her brother have creativity and craftsmanship in spades! We are so excited to have 3 Noisy Birds as part of the April Handmade coming up this month!
DeVonya, please introduce yourself!
My name is DeVonya and I have two incredible daughters. Both are married and have their own businesses, they teach me lots of stuff! I have recently become a grandma for the first time and love it! My brother and I are the faces behind 3 Noisy Birds.
He is able to build just about anything I can think of and I then stain and market it all. We have a great time dumpster diving together, as we try and use as much reclaimed wood as possible. It is so much fun to do this with him.
Is this a full-time business for you?
Not at this time. I have a day job and my brother runs our family farm. 2019 will mark the 55th consecutive summer we have sold produce in Kaysville.
My mom is known as “The Corn Lady”. We all spend time in the summer at the truck helping but Kyle, by far, has the most responsibility. I also have an online memory writing program called Fifty Two Memories.
What materials do you use?
Our goal is to use reclaimed wood as much as possible. We also try and gather tools and things that are being discarded and use those. In other words, we try and reuse as much as we can before we go and buy something. It is kind of a fun challenge to see what we can do.
How would you describe your creative process?
I am lucky because Kyle can literally build about anything. He is very resourceful, all these years on the farm. I will see things I like or trends and ask him to recreate it with his own flair! We also try and look at the materials we have and figure out things to make with them.
How did you choose the name for your business?
The name is based on my family, which are my girls and me, so that is the 3 and we are pretty noisy 😀 I also have these big trees in my backyard and often in the morning, the birds have a lot to say. I love the sound of those birds, hence 3 Noisy Birds!
What is the best way for people to connect with you?
We have learned a lot over the last 2 years and enjoy all the creative and fun people we have the chance to meet! Looking forward to being a part of your event! Thanks for taking the time to get to know us!
